i've had this friend for way over a year that i met through a different LDR of mine and we only just realized that we have romantic feelings for each other. it's already a LDR except they're moving even farther away from my state where we'll have different time zones (right now we're in the same time zone but different states) and i cant help but be terrified that it's not going to last because of a time zone difference regardless of how many times we talk about ways to make it work

Time differences can be problematic but usually a bit of compromise can minimize any issues, ie. waking up a bit earlier to get more time to talk, going to bed later for the same reason etc. Just don’t get too carried away, you both need to take care of yourselves as well, which means getting enough sleep as often as you can.

Also if you have set schedules, then try to work out when/if you can talk during the day and how (through phone calls, texting, skype, kik, facebook, etc). If one of you does not have a set schedule, then that person should do their best to be available during the other’s free time.

The most important thing is to keep communication open as much as possible and make the most of any time you do get together. If there are days where you barely get to talk, try to be thankful for the moments you do get together instead of resentful of the time apart.

Good luck!
