Hi :) I've been in an ldr with my boyfriend for the last 5 months. He lives in Singapore, and I live in the US. We're both 19 years old. I haven't told my parents or any of my close friends about him yet, and I was hoping for some advice on how to do so. I really would like them to know about him. I'm just a little fearful. Is there someone that you feel like would be easier to tell than anyone else? If there is, I would suggest telling them first, because once you have one person you knows and is supportive, it’ll make telling the others easier.

When you tell someone, just start from the beginning, make sure to include details about who they are as a person (hobbies, their job/school, culture, family, etc), show them pictures if possible, and be clear about your feelings. Some people have a hard time accepting long distance relationships as being valid. Try not to feel hurt by this, usually in time they will understand it more and see that your relationship is just as real and valid as any other.
